Rio de Janeiro, Brazil — On February 2, the José de Paiva Netto Educational Center of the Legion of Good Will (LBV) received the friendly visit of South Korean Esperanto teacher Hyon-suk Li. Accompanied by the interpreter and renowned Brazilian teacher, Jair Salles, the visitor had a firsthand look at the work being carried out by the Organization in the city of Rio de Janeiro.

When she reached the LBV, Hyon-suk Li was greeted by the Goodwill Ecumenical Children Choir composed of students from the Educational Center. "When I saw the children singing I had a wonderful impression", said the teacher in an interview with the Super Good Will Communication Network*.

The visitor’s first contact with the Legion of Good Will occurred by means of the Good Will Portal’s page in Esperanto. "I don’t know any Portuguese and through Esperanto I found out about this great work, thanks to communication via the Internet. Being a teacher myself, I already felt very connected [to the LBV]", she commented.

Esperanto is one of the languages on the student syllabus in the Legion of Good Will’s Educational Center. The teacher visited the classrooms and talked to children in the universal language. "The LBV’s idea of choosing Esperanto as one of its communication languages is very fortunate, because they have very similar ideals."
