Ecumenical study on the final prophecies is a success in Brazil

“The Earth dries up and withers; the world languishes and withers; the exalted of the Earth languish. The Earth is defiled by its people; they have disobeyed the laws, violated the statutes and broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore, a curse consumes the Earth; its people must bear their guilt. Therefore, Earth’s inhabitants are burned up, and very few are left”. (Isaiah, 24: 4 to 6)

Today, we can see how these words make complete sense. But how do the prophecies of Isaiah also fit in with the reality that we experience? How many other serious prophecies, like those reported in the Apocalypse, may also be as valid to each of us? The subject is widely discussed, but only a few demystify it in any great detail.

In 2011, the renowned Brazilian writer José de Paiva Netto, launched Jesus, o Profeta Divino [Jesus, the Divine Prophet], the 4th volume of the “O Apocalipse de Jesus para os simples de coração” [The Apocalypse of Jesus for the simple at heart] collection, which has already sold more than 1.6 million copies, and also comprises the titles: As profecias sem Mistério [The prophecies Unveiled], Somos todos Profetas [We are all Prophets] and Apocalipse sem Medo [Apocalypse without Fear]. This collection, which came out of the author’s studies and in-depth analyses of the text of the Apocalypse, started with the famous radio series under the same name between October 1990 and February 1992. More than 450 programs on the subject were recorded.

In the book, the author presents facts of reality from the point of view of the final prophecies, and deals with the opinions and theses of different religious leaders, philosophers, politicians, scientists, ecologists and free-thinkers on the current context within which the planet is discussed. A planet that is being increasingly driven into a untenable situation by irresponsible actions that affect the equilibrium of life in society. Therefore, he argues how important it is to understand prophetic happenings to help improve the world. He shows that prophecies portray the results of human actions and have a direct impact on the lives of individuals.

In this context, Paiva Netto explains that the Apocalypse is a letter from a friend; a compass for guiding Humanity’s still erroneous steps. He emphasizes the solidary love of Jesus, Humanity’s Great Friend, by warning us of the consequences of our attitudes, particularly those towards society and the environment. “The Apocalypse was not made to frighten us with the dark paths of mystery, but to illuminate the roads of our lives, because Apocalypse means Revelation”, says the author, who also invites us to reflect further on the subject: “Stop to think a little; stop saying bad things about the Final Prophecies, because the visions of John, the Evangelist and Prophet, do not set these facts on motion, but merely announce them. Only a friend warns another friend".

Sales success

In a devoted and innovative analysis of the Apocalypse, demystifying the prophecies in which Jesus, the Ecumenical Christ, guides humanity to face up to things that "are shortly going to happen", this work comes to cast a light on the constant doubts about the future of our planet.

Author Paiva Netto, who has already sold more than 4.7 million books, launched the new book during the 15th International Book Biennial in Rio de Janeiro, considered to be one of the biggest literary events in the world, which was held between September 1 and 11, 2011. His book also became a sales success at this year’s 57th Book Fair in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Just three months after it was released the work is already in its 7th edition.
